The
Story of Saint Francis and the Wolf
Once
upon a time, in a small town in Italy,
all of the people were frightened. A big
bad wolf was eating people and animals!
Francis was not
afraid. He walked up to the wolf.
"Brother wolf," he said, "I order you not
to hurt me or anyone." The big bad
wolf became as gentle as a lamb.
Saint Francis made
peace between the people and the wolf.
The people promised to give the wolf food
so it would not be hungry and the wolf
promised to eat only what they gave him.
